Meet your teachers – Michael & Kim Hossler

Michael has been a public school teacher for nearly 30 years. He combines his educational background with his love of nature to teach simple and complex science concepts through observations, explanations, and connections.

Kim Hossler has been an art teacher for 17 years, ten of them in Newtown’s elementary schools. She has also brought her beautiful artwork to the sanctuary for over 11 years through greeting cards and other treasured keepsakes. She believes that the process of learning about and creating art helps students discover and develop their skills as observers, storytellers, creative thinkers, and problem solvers.
