Sunday at the Sanctuary – Winter Wonders – Believe It Or Not!

February 9 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

February finds us in the midst of a winter wonderland full of hidden mysteries, amazing adaptations, and more activity than you may have imagined! Join us for Sunday at the Sanctuary on February 9th from 12 – 2pm for “Winter Wonders – Believe it or Not!” Did you know that Skunk Cabbage is the first plant to emerge by actually melting its way through the snow and ice by burning energy and breathing as much as a mouse before starting to behave like a plant in the springtime? Did you know that Wood Frogs actually cryogenically freeze during the winter!?! Learn about those amazing nature stories and others as we explore how nature responds to the extremes!

2-3 Guided Hike through the sanctuary – all outdoors and weather dependent.

Participants going on the hike must dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear for hiking in mud/snow and are encouraged to bring cameras.

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
