Sanctuary Owl Prowl

January 27 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

EVENT IS NOW FULL

EVENT RESCHEDULED TO: Saturday, January 27th from 6:30 – 8pm (event will be held rain or shine)

Cost: $20 per person- event limited to 17 guests
Ages 8 years and above

Join the sanctuary for our very own Winter Owl Prowl! We’re taking to the meadows and forest trails to see who-who-who might be out and about in the nighttime winter woods. Guided by Ken Elkins, Director at the Connecticut Audubon Society Coastal Center at Milford Point, we’ll search for owl species known to breed near or at the sanctuary including the Great-Horned Owl, Barred Owl & Eastern Screech-Owl. Learn all about your favorite nocturnal raptors, their different owl calls, where they nest and how to protect these incredible birds.

This event requires standing still in the dark (and cold) for periods of time so that the owls are not disturbed. Ages 8 years and above. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please dress appropriately for winter weather, hiking/snow boots, hats, gloves, hand warmers, etc and bring a flashlight or headlamp. Wind or heavy precipitation will postpone our event.

Please note: no restrooms on the property.
No refunds unless event is cancelled.  This will be held rain or shine, so please dress appropriately.
