Outdoor, Explore & More! – Summer Camp

July 17 @ 9:00 am - July 20 @ 1:00 pm

Join the sanctuary and Newtown Community Center as we explore the natural world using the tools and techniques of artists and scientists. With daily visits to the sanctuary, we’ll collect specimens, perform science experiments, create original drawings, paintings and sculptures. Together, we’ll discover the connections between art and science and the plants, animals, and insects that make the sanctuary their home. Then, it’s back to NCC for some splash time in the swimming pool!

Meet your teachers – Michael & Kim Hossler

Michael has been a public school teacher for nearly 30 years.  He combines his educational background with his love of nature to teach simple and complex science concepts through observations, explanations, and connections.

Kim Hossler has been an art teacher for 15 years, ten of them in Newtown’s elementary schools.
She believes that the process of learning about and creating art helps students discover and develop their skills as observers, storytellers, creative thinkers, and problem solvers.CVH Animal Sanctuary/Newtown Community Center
