For the past decade, the CVH Animal Sanctuary has been honoring the human-animal connection, enriching the lives of all beings. Recognized as a national model for compassion, the sanctuary is positively changing the narratives and interactions between humans while saving and changing lives every day.

By supporting animal welfare organizations, we are transitioning pets out of shelters into loving, forever homes. Through our groundbreaking Senior Paw Project, we’re helping older pet owners keep and care for their animals by providing veterinary care and pet food – services which directly impact the social, emotional, and physical health of older adults. Lastly, our free compassion-based educational programming connects the community to animals, the environment and one another.

Currently, all sanctuary programs are offered under tent or in borrowed space, often weather dependent and at the mercy of availability and capacity. Construction of the main building and veterinary facility will allow for on-site rescued animals and provide greater scope to our critically needed programs.

Once constructed, the sanctuary will become a landmark destination, drawing in thousands from the tri-state area and beyond – a safe haven and beacon of hope to all seeking a better world. And we hope you’ll join us. For together, we can create a place where compassion, peace and love live.

Join Us In Bringing This Beautiful Vision To Life

The future sanctuary facility and veterinary intake center will reflect Catherine’s empathy for all creatures by providing unsurpassed care for its animal residents and hands-on education programs for the community.

In keeping with the sanctuary’s mission of compassion for ALL, the sanctuary is excited and honored to be accepted into the LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE. When certified, the sanctuary facilities will operate on environmentally sustainable systems and be constructed of locally sourced products free of environmental toxins.  Upon completion the sanctuary will be among 70 Living Building Petal or Zero Energy buildings globally.  This means the sanctuary will give back to the environment MORE than it takes, creating a regenerative facility that is 70% more energy efficient.

  • Regenerative buildings that connect occupants to light, air, food, nature, and community
  • Self-sufficient and remain within the resource limit of their site
  • Create a positive impact of the human and natural systems that interact with them

With this big dream comes big tasks and big asks and that’s where you come in
