For 10 years, the CVH Animal Sanctuary has been on a mission to enrich the lives of all beings, becoming a true national model for compassion. Our comprehensive programs are rooted in kindness and responsible for changing countless lives. Homeless animals have found forever families. Older adults are now able to keep and care for their pets. Children have access to free, compassion-based educational programming that connects them to animals, the environment and one another. And, the world is seeing – through our example – that a kinder world is not only possible, but already here.
But in order to change more lives, have rescued animals on-site, and provide greater scope to our critically needed programs, we need to expand. We need a building – we need OUR forever home. So now, we are embarking on the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary Capital Campaign, the first in our organization’s history, to help fund our main building and veterinary intake facility.
Once constructed, the sanctuary will become a landmark and destination, drawing in thousands from the tri-state area and beyond – a safe haven and beacon of hope to all seeking a better world. And we hope you’ll join us. For together, we can create a place where compassion, peace and love live.
The future sanctuary facility and veterinary intake center will reflect Catherine’s empathy for all creatures by providing unsurpassed care for its animal residents and hands-on education programs for the community.
In keeping with the sanctuary’s mission of compassion for ALL, the sanctuary is excited and honored to be LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE CERTIFIED – the first animal sanctuary in the world and the first living building in Connecticut and the metro NY area. This means the sanctuary will give back to the environment MORE than it takes, creating a regenerative facility that is 70% more energy efficient.
